Intro

Goggles down, thumbs up! Underground.KL FPV Drone Racing is ready to run our first Global Qualifer for the chapter. We invite pilots from all around to come join us for 2 days of action packed racing and the opportunity to submit their best 3 consecutive laps on to the MultiGP Global Qualifier leaderboard. 

The chapter will be organising this race in the beautiful town of Banting, just a short 45-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur. Surrounded by lush greenery, friendly locals, and breathtaking sceneary of plantations and paddy fields, Banting offers a refreshing change of pace from the bustling city life of KL. The tranquility and beauty of the this charming town with the private and quiet race track held at Institute Kemahiran Belia Negara hopes to allow pilots to really focus on giving their best. 

 Format

• We will run standard MultiGP rules for Global Qualifier. 2 miniutes round with the 3 best consecutive laps taken. 
• We will use the MultiGP ZippyQ system which allows pilot 10 packs. There will be no fixed grouping. This flexible system will allow pilots to fly at their own pace. For more information on how ZippyQ works please click here
• This is a 2 day event. Based on weather conditions and time, we will run enough practice rounds and spill over some packs to the next day. On the second day, given good weather conditions and everyone has completed their GQ, we shall proceed with a bonus double elimnation round.

  • Top 16 will proceed to pro category double elimination round. Chase the Ace. Ironman disengaged. 
  • Next 8 will proceed to sport category double elimination round. Chase the Ace
  • IKBN participants will fly a special closed category. Best of 3.

Fee & Prizes

There will be an admission fee of RM 100.00 only. This includes, a welcome goodie pack, some props, beverages, lunch, GQ timing submission and the opportunity to race at the bonus double elimination round.

Venue

This race will not be held at our usual PH track but slighly to the west of KL in Banting. Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara has been generous enough to offer their beatiful field and venue for us to run a full day of racing. The location is about 44 minutes to an hour away from KL, so plan your trip well. 

There will be a canteen operational and grab riders can bring food if requried. There is ample parking and restrooms everywhere. The field will be a private place for pilots to really focus on the race without worrying about the surrounding. Check out the Google Maps link brings you directly to the venue. 

Pilots can also choose to stay at various AirB&B locations nearby or book a couple of nights and a nearby Golf & Island resort which has an amazing waterpark.

2. I’ll fly 5 inch only with a max of 6S battery.
3. I’ll check and configure my race channel myself before each race.
4. I’ll clear my own rubbish and keep the place clean before I leave.
5. I’ll keep the peace, watch the noise and park my cars properly around the area.
6. I am responsible for the safety of myself and my own property.
7. I understood that this is a fun race activity where the organiser does not bear any responsibility of lost of goods, injury, damage of property, safety and unwanted incident.
8. A quick inspection will be done to ensure fail safe and pit mode works.

25 May 2024 (Day 1)

• 8:00 a.m. – Track setup (volunteers welcome)
• 8:30 a.m. – Registration and Inspection
• 9:15 a.m. – Welcome note, safety briefing, track walk.
• 9:30 a.m. – Start practice rounds
• 11:30 a.m. – Start GQ rounds (ZippyQ)
• 4:30 p.m. – End of Day 1

26th May 2024 (Day 2)

• 9:00 a.m. – Start practice rounds
• 10:00 a.m. – Start remaining GQ rounds (ZippyQ)
• 2:00 p.m. – Start double elimination (if all have completed GQ)
• 4:30 p.m. – Prize giving / Photo session
